TYDDYN IOLYN FARMHOUSE WINTER NEWSLETTER 2011

newsletter winter 2011

The Bed and Breakfast business has been busy again this year, and many of my guests have become regular visitors. It is wonderful to see so many friends returning and thank you all for your custom! Projects at Tyddyn lolyn continue and hopefully the farmhouse will move into the 21st century with the addition of wi-fi in 2012. Lovely though it is to 'get away from it all' I do appreciate that many of my guests require this facility.

The A487 Porthmadog bypass was completed in October (seven weeks early) and there was an opportunity to walk along the full length from Tremadog to Minffordd before it was officially opened. The surrounding mountain views are stunning and
the traditional dry stone walls along the route are beautifully constructed.

The general consensus is that the bypass will have a positive effect on the businesses and retailers of Porthmadog and it will certainly ease congestion in the town. Portmeirion is now a mere 10 minutes drive from Tyddyn lolyn!

TYDDYN IOLYN FARMHOUSE EASTER NEWSLETTER 2011

newsletter autumn 2010

After an exceptionally prolonged cold spell in December, Tyddyn Iolyn enjoyed some lovely early spring sunshine in March and the surrounding fields are full of lambs again.

Bookings continue to be good and Kim and Meleri will join me again for what appears to be shaping up to be another busy season ahead. Once again thank you to them both and to all of my guests for your continued support.

During the winter 'The Bakehouse' was completely reroofed, rewired and refurbished and is now decorated a more tasteful shade of cream. The four-poster bed has been replaced and the room now seems a lot more spacious although 1 hope has retained its cosy atmosphere.

TYDDYN IOLYN FARMHOUSE AUTUMN NEWSLETTER 2010

newsletter autumn 2010

It's been another busy spring and summer season at Tyddyn Iolyn and a big thank you to all my guests for contributing to its success. My visitors have come from far and wide, including Australia and New Zealand, Canada and the States, Scandinavia, South Africa, Hong Kong, all over Europe and of course the UK.

Having taken part in a dendrochronology project dating old Welsh houses, I now have documentary evidence for the existence of Tyddyn Iolyn back to the Land Tax records of 1771 and parish registers of 1767.
